Hi,

I use mandriva 2007 on my laptop. It loads KDE by default. I switched to gnome. In KDE, when I press windows key in my laptop, the start menu pops. It doesnt happen in GNOME. How can I map the windows key in GNOME?

Request you to help me out with this.

Thank you..

In your panel, Choose: System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts

In the new window, scroll down and find the "Show the panel menu" option. Click once on the box to the right, under shortcuts (may already have something bound) and it will prompt you to press another key (my states "New Accelerator...") - when it does, press the windows key.

Here's a screenshot of mine after changing it to the windows key:

(note that it will only open the panel menu, to close it you click outside the menu or press ESC)
