Hiberate on a laptop; which ones work?

Recommended Posts

I know that hibernate is pretty hardware-dependent and I've not managed to get it to work on any of my mandy installations (10.1, LE2005 and 2006) with my Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600  . Has anyone else got it to work on a laptop and, if so, which model was it? Also, which distro? Thanks.

It works quite well with my laptop (see sig.) with mdv2007, using klaptop.

However, sometimes after I start it again the fan doesn't go at all or it goes all the time. Or maybe that was when suspending to ram?

Haven't done it in a while now, but I once had an uptime on my laptop at 11 days when I hibernated during the nights.

After a suspend to ram tty1-6 disappear for me.

On my sister's computer (Dell X200, mdv2007) I managed to set up both suspend to ram and disk without issues by using pmsuspend (in package suspend-scripts) and hibernate (package hibernate) instead of klaptop.
