RadioEar
After reading this article, this reminded of the long ago fight between Bill Gates and Steven Jobs, Mac and M$ Windows, over Bill stealing Mac's GUI. Apple or Mac hand the first GUI on the Market while M$ was still DOS at the prompt. M$ Windows came later but not too far behind other "windowing systems". It was really an application rather than a full OS. Mac and others like the Atari 68000 running OS9 for example, were true OS. Mostly what I got out of this article Is the "Look and feel" of windows in other windowing systems, like KDE for example looks most like Windows. I personally like GUI's, I had my fill of the DOS prompt years ago. Most of the Apps I wrote Were GUIs for DOS.
arctic
Well I know this article since a long time but it "eduactes" some people pretty well who come directly from Windows and get frustrated by Linux.
