Hi you all.

I'm using HP nx6125 laptop with mandriva 2007. Laptop has a broadcom bcm4318 wifi card that's making me grazy. My kernel is 2.6.17.13-mm-laptop-3mdv and I have tried this with an other kernel (really just don't remember what was it, found it with urpmi) too. With that other kernel I didn't get this far I'm now with laptop-kernel.

I have tried now for two days to get my wireles card working, but it just doesn't work properly. I've got so far that there is a network found, but I still can't acces to the internet. I have tried to install the driver with ndiswrapper and with that I'm as far as I am now. I also tried using that bcm43xx-fwcutter-thing but didn't get this far with that.

Is there a simple way to make this card work? Where should I look to find out what's blogging my way to internet?

I have a HP dv5125eu laptop with a turion 64 and also have a broadcom 4318 wifi card....

Never could made it work in Control center even with ndiswrapper, instead i searched for 64 bit drivers for windows and found this:

ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/notebook/...4bit/80211g.zip

What i did was unzip(for example to your home dir) and then as root in a console:

ndiswrapper -i BCM4318.INF <----dont know now the right filename of the .Inf file...just guessing since i am not in my laptop now, i will post the right command later.

That should do the trick and wireless light should lite up...if does not work ....reboot and try again.

you can also use ndiswrapper -l to see what drivers ndiswrapper is loaded....if There is more then one u must clean all of them with:

ndiswrapper -r <name of the driver>

Hope it helps somehow.... B)

Cheers....

Hi!

I had allready forgotten that I wrote here... I'm getting old. :)

Thanks for your help.

I'm so far with my wireles that it finds a network and the singnal is 100% but still I can't get to internet. Someone said that it could have something to do with (oh my... what's that in english...) encryption (I guess). And I can see that when mandriva is booting there is some error about psk and wpa, but it passes so fast that I'm not able to see what that error says... So, is there something, somewhere that I should check to find out what's blogging my way to internet?
