Mandrake 9.1 RC3?

One of the things I like about Mandrake the most is that they make their distributions avaliable to all straight away.

So do I. But mandrake needs the money. And the free downloads can easily wait 2 weeks. If mandrake goes down, there will be no free downloads (unless it goes the way of debian).

Not the final, still 9.1rc3. But definitely the last RC.

However, I looked at ftp://ftp.rediris.es/mirror/mandrake/iso and noticed that the above story may not be true after all, which means RC3 = final.

According to this link, the final looks like it is being uploaded as I type this.

I think it has to be final. What would be the point of having a secret release candidate? As to the one iso issue, while trying to find a good mirror, I recall seeing one with only one iso, several with three and most with rc-2. I think LT is just speculating as we all are I guess.

Well its official, 9.1 RC3 is final got this from PCLO

Dear Mandrake Mirror,

If you don't have any time just leave this message.

The mirroring will be done automatically.

The new Mandrake 9.1 is available now. It's would be great if you could speed up the availability of the 9.1 isos.

In order to make the ISO available now you just need to copy the rc3 from

+Mandrake-iso directory to Mandrake/iso:

cp -a Mandrake-iso/i586/MandrakeLinux-9.1-rc3-CD1.i586.iso

+Mandrake/iso/Mandrake91-cd1-inst.i586.iso

cp -a Mandrake-iso/i586/MandrakeLinux-9.1-rc3-CD2.i586.iso

+Mandrake/iso/Mandrake91-cd2-ext.i586.iso

cp -a Mandrake-iso/i586/MandrakeLinux-9.1-rc3-CD3.i586.iso

+Mandrake/iso/Mandrake91-cd3-i18n.i586.iso

Thank you!

Jacques
