Suggestion for PCMCIA

I think you'll find that there are some usb sound cards. I've never seen a pcmcia sound card, since normally the built in sound works.

 

BTW are you sure the built in sound cannot work with Linux? It may just be that you have not set the right parameters - I know from my compaq armada PIII 650 that with mandriva 2007 for the first time, the sound doesn't work.

But a bit of fiddling and it does.

 

I have trouble to believe your onboard sound cannot work...

You can try what I did. I bought a Toshiba laptop and had no sound, and realised on the external casing, there is a volume control in the form of a black wheel that you can use to turn the sound up and down. Maybe this is why.

I dont find anything like this but by the way someone know where to get info manuals or something to strip out this laptops>?
