The screen will shut off every so often. I right clicked on the desktop and deactivated the screen saver. Also, in that same menue, i went to the power control and deactivated those options. What else is controlling this? Thanks!!!

I think maybe putting a hash # in front of DPMS in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file in the Monitor section may help ex:

Section "Monitor"
	Identifier "Monitor1"
	VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
	ModelName	"Dell 1702FP (Analog)"
### Comment all HorizSync and VertSync values to use DDC:
	HorizSync	30.0 - 80.0
	VertRefresh 56.0 - 76.0
	#Option "dpms"

I know i'm new to linux but perhaps this might help.

I had the same problem with Mephis 6.0. I went to their help site and i was directed (after shutting down what i had already mentioned above) to go to the 'KPowersave Settings' and shut those off. Is there something like this in Mandriva 2007? I'm wondering if it's the same thing.
