One way to download the rpms if you haven't got internet access on Mandriva, is to go to the official download page for the isos:

http://www.mandriva.com/en/download/free

and then select a mirror which is near you (so the downloads are likely to be faster). For example, let's say you're in the UK, then you choose the UK mirror and go to their isos for 2007:

http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/M...ial/iso/2007.0/

Now, you don't want the isos, you just want the rpms, so you can use the "parent directory" link to go up the tree and then find the directory for the rpms in main-release:

http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/M...a/main/release/

(assuming you're using i586, not the 64-bit versions).

Then you can search this page for the rpms you want, and if you search for "kernel" you can see several rpms, including:

kernel-2.6.17.5mdv-1-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 20-Sep-2006 15:46 20M
kernel-doc-2.6.17.5mdv-1-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 20-Sep-2006 15:46 2.7M
kernel-enterprise-2.6.17.5mdv-1-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 20-Sep-2006 15:46 20M
kernel-legacy-2.6.17.5mdv-1-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 20-Sep-2006 15:46 20M
kernel-source-2.6.17.5mdv-1-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 20-Sep-2006 15:46 51M
kernel-source-stripped-2.6.17.5mdv-1-1mdv2007.0.i586.rpm 20-Sep-2006 15:46 18M

As you can see, there's a 51M source rpm, or a "stripped" version of just 18M which is fine if you just want to compile against it, it has all the comments and stuff stripped out to make it smaller.

Bookmark this directory link so you can easily get other rpms later.

Easiest way is setting up your urpmi sources using the easyurpmi link at the top of this page, then you can install ANY package you want nice and easy without having to visit ftp sites to download packages individually as and when you need them.

Plus with urpmi, it pulls the dependencies that the package might require.

Hi Dear,

I think we have the same problem, Now I try to install my NIC driver and after some search i found the following link to get the kernel source we want:

ftp://carroll.cac.psu.edu/pub/linux/distr...2007.0.i586.rpm

I hope that will work, Let's try and please tell me about what will happened with you..
