I tried to edit the default firefox link in the start bar, under Internet > Web Browsers... but it wouldn't let me save my settings, then i delete it, so firefox is gone, so I try and re-add it, nope, doesnt work, then i try and add some other random things, nope, wont add them.... why is it doing this?

If you find the properties of the gnome menu editor icon to find out what the program is called, then open a terminal window, type su to get root privileges, and then type the name of the program, this will allow you to run it as root.

I'm sure there's probably another way within the gui, but I don't use gnome so this is the only way I can think of.

File "/usr/lib/python2.4/xml/dom/minidom.py", line 1548, in appendChild

xml.dom.HierarchyRequestErr: two document elements disallowed
