Guest jbgrenouille
hello, i tried to install the Nvidia x86_64 8774 pkg driver. the kernel source and binutils rpm's are installed. during the install process, several msgs are displayed stating that the installer is unable to determine the correct install paths for Xlib, Xmodule and inviting me to install a Xorg SDK/development package, that i can't find anywhere ! i'll be grateful for any help. jbg
speedball2
Hi If I remember correctly the drivers gave me the same message, I kept saying ok and finished the install and the drivers worked anyway. :D Maybe that'll work for you. (on mandriva 2007 btw)
Dustpuppy
Same here - just click "OK" to everything that comes up, and it works. There are known issues with the Nvidia drivers and this release - I think at one point in the beta cycle you couldn't even get X, so at least it's an improvement  The one thing that I would suggest, though, is not to try the 3D effects quite yet. I managed to utterly nuke my system trying that, to the extent that all I could do was re-install. I expect these things are being worked on... Gowator
I expect these things are being worked on... Well, perhaps after this fix the security problems? then again these have been documented since June and it hasn't worked on them since then so.... I wouldn't hold my breath :D
Guest jbgrenouille
after some hours trying to solve the problem, i installed the powerpack (instead of the free) version of mandriva 2007. it now works fine, with the nvidia driver.... sorry for not giving any solution concerning the free version, but at least, the problem can be dealt with jbg
