tshizzle
Fonts look fine in Opera/Konq, but in Firefox they just look bad. And no matter what font I pick, its the same font that will be used, seems the only font option in Firefox that changes anything is the size. Also fonts look bad in GAIM I use KDE by the way with the XGL [moved from Software by spinynorman]
ffi
I am not using Mandriva nor using KDE atm but I believe there' s an option in kcontrol to make gtk apps pick up the kde theme (and fonts) under look and feel.
arctic
Go to Firefox' preferences, select the font-config box and make sure that the checkbox for "allow websites to use their own fonts" isn't checked. Otherwise you have to install all the special fonts that are used on the different websites.
scarecrow
Do you have the ttf-ms-fonts (AKA free Microsoft fonts) installed?
