Hi, I am the newbie who sought advice on Mandrake Linux 9.1. I have received the Mandriva 2007 CDs I ordered but your post about the errata makes me wonder if I should wait a while before attempting the install or go ahead. I will be grateful for a word of advice....R.Singh

The Errata for Mandriva 2007 contain information on known problems with the release and, where available, how to fix, avoid or work around them.

You should also see the Release Notes, which contain general information about new features and major changes; changes to the Mandriva installer and upgrade instructions for Mandriva 2006 users; changes to supported hardware and drivers; changes regarding software packages; other technical information for experienced users.

I don't think you should wait, unless you've identified a serious problem that will affect you, that hasn't been sorted yet.

Once you've installed, use the MCC (Mandriva Control Centre) to set up your software sources, then get all the latest updates - that will take care of all the issues that are marked as resolved.

If you get any problems, just start a new topic and hopefully we'll be able to help. :)
