acegap
Just updated for the very first time. Even managed to save all the downloaded files OK for burning to CD... However, it seemed to go very well up to package 142 out of 146 total... The final few lines were this: 'ftp://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/Mandrakelinux/official/updates/2006.0/main_updates/./bind-utils-9.3.1-4.1.20060mdk.i586.rpm installing bind-utils-9.3.1-4.1.20060mdk.i586.rpm from /var/cache/urpmi/rpms Preparing... ############################################# 142/146: bind-utils ############################################# Installation failed, some files are missing: 'ftp://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/Mandrakelinux/official/updates/2006.0/main_updates/./libfreetype6-2.1.10-9.4.20060mdk.i586.rpm You may want to update your urpmi database [root@localhost ~]# There was 142 files in /var/cache/urpmi/rpms for a total of 241.5mb hmm.. I was using the computer for a couple of hours afterwards and everything seemed OK but I'm wondering what exactly is the next move..? thanks in advance [moved from Software by spinynorman] Edited October 1, 2006 by acegap
arctic
I would run urpmi.update -a && urpmi --auto-select once more.

Steve Scrimpshire
If I remember correctly, as of 2006, this command: urpmi --auto-update is the same as urpmi.update -a && urpmi --auto-select (This is on my box that is running 2007, but I think the option was there in 2006, too): < root /home/omar > man urpmi <<snip>> --auto-update Like --auto-select, but also updates all relevant media before selection of upgradeable packages is made. This avoids a previous call to "urpmi.update". <<snip>>
ianw1974
If I remember correctly, as of 2006, this command:urpmi --auto-update is the same as urpmi.update -a && urpmi --auto-select Neat, I never knew that. I was always typing it in two commands separated by the &&. I like it :P Cheers Steve
