Unable to configure Wacom tablet on Mandriva 2007

Hi,

Title says all. I've been completely unable to configure my Wacom Graphire4 tablet under Mandriva 2007. I've tried all the steps described in the Linux Wacom Project, even downloading the driver code and compiling it, and nothing. The tablet is repeteadly recognized and opered as a mouse, so I can't configure pressure curve, absolute mode, etc... Previously I had been able to configure it in any other Linux distribution I tested, namely Ubuntu 6, Kubuntu 6, and Sabayon 3. All these use also kernel 2.6.

This happens despite Device Manager shows the table using the "wacom" module. I've however seen that, if I do a 'startx' from the command line on the root account I get a warning telling me that the "wacom· driver could not be loaded.

Any tips?

Best regards,

Eduard
