AussieJohn
I hope this one has a simple solution. I want to send a folder as an attachment instead of a number of files. I do not know if it can be done or if it is possible then just how it is done. I have gone right through kmail and cannot find a way. Any assistance appreciated. Cheers. John. jboy
Hi John. I like your new avatar! I would send the folder and files as a zip file or a .tar.gz attachment to the email message.
AussieJohn
Hello Jboy. 1. Thanks. 2. That makes sense. Thanks I will do that. I'll need to use zip because I am sending to Windows users. They wouldn't know what the heck a tar.gz is even if it smacked them in the face. In the meantime does anyone else have some additional ideas ???. Cheers. John.
uralmasha
Hi, AussieJohn, winzip , 7-zip and power archiver on Windows can read tar.gz at the moment. I am not sure if there is a bundled Windows application to read archives, but your recipients can install one of those for free. That will make them 1 step closer to migration to Linux :)
orts
To be safe I'll suggest that yuo send them as zip-files, cause that if they don't have a thirdparty archive software installed, they can't open anything els than zip-archives. :D
AussieJohn
Thanks friends, I will keep both suggestions in mind. Cheers. John.
