neocytrix
Hello all, I just recently installed the newest version of debian(testing) and everytime I go to use "apt-get", it confirms how much disk space will be taken up after unpacking, then I get the following: Media change: please insert the disc labeled 'Debian GNU/Linux testing _Etch_ - Official Snapshot i386 Binary-1 (20060810)' in the drive '/cdrom/' and press enter Where do I get this CD, and why haven't I ever needed it before with Debian? Thanks Neocytrix Edited September 18, 2006 by neocytrix
aioshin
try to open /etc/apt/sources.list then try to comment those entries related to CD-rom sources, if there is

polemicz
you'll probably also want to add contrib and non-free to your sources list. Also the debian-multimedia is a good one to have. Here's my sources list: deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ etch main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ etch main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main deb-src http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org/ etch main
