Hi people.

 

I was playing around with this file and now i cant do any upgrades or updates on my mandriva.

 

I just edited this line SYSTEM=${SYSTEM=test}

 

PRODUCT=`sed "s/.*release \([0-9.]*\).*/\1/g" /etc/mandrakelinux-release 2> /dev/null`

SYSTEM=${SYSTEM=test}

 

Please can someone give me the original line, what it should say.

The correct lines are:

 

PRODUCT=`sed "s/.*release \([0-9.]*\).*/\1/g" /etc/mandriva-release 2> /dev/null`
SYSTEM=${SYSTEM="Mandriva Linux"}

 

I'd guess, if you check you might find an rc.sysinit~ file in /etc/rc.d which would have your previous version before editing. Although if you edited the file two or three times, then it will only have the last copy before the last save.

If you want to end up with a test-type environment, you can use urpmi to add easyurpmi sources for Cooker, which is the test branch of Mandriva. See the link to easyurpmi at the top of the page. If you have sources configured already, suggest you do this first:

 

urpmi.removemedia -a

 

to clear existing sources, and then add your new Cooker sources to apply updates to get to bleeding-edge and possibly unstable testing system.
