Guest Cambion
All, I'm attempting to install Mandrake 9.0 from CD onto a system with a Symbios 53c1010-33 Ultra3 SCSI controller. The installation locks up after choosing install class ("Recommended"/"Expert", "Install", "Upgrade", etc. It doesn't matter which I choose, the result is the same every time). There are three SCSI devices in the system. The hard drive, a Plextor CD-R, and a Toshiba CD-ROM. It freezes at the message... "Installing driver for disk/scsi|hardware_raid card imm" I've looked everywhere I can think of but have been unable to find any help for this. There is a note on the Mandrake site about "Raid on / fails after boot", but it sounds like this is not the same issue. As they are saying the cause is the installer mangling the /etc/raidtab and my install is completely fresh. There's no /etc, much less an /etc/raidtab to be mangled. Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Cambion
Ixthusdan
Did you download? Good checksum? Good burn? Sounds too easy, but these two things can really baffle an install.
