laiback
When I installed Mandrive 2006 I copied the DVD onto my HD (this is an option provided). But now that I am using the mirror sites for updates and as the sources for any new software I wish to remove the copy of the DVD from my HD. I believe that it's in:- /var/ftp/pub/Mandrivalinux/media I have already deleted the entry within MCC Software Media manager. Is is safe to just delete the directory listed above? Doing this will release about 2Gb of space within / ,...handy. Many thanks Laidback

ianw1974
Yes, but also go into System/Configuration/Packaging/Software Media Manager and remove the entry that relates to this CD, otherwise later when you try to install something, it will look for the files that no longer exist on your hard disk.
