hanes
I installed the Mandriva rpm of KTorrent from http://ktorrent.org/index.php?page=downloads Prior to that I uninstalled the Mandriva version of KTorrent with "urpme ktorrent" and "urpme libktorrent". I tried to run ktorrent and I get this error, [hanes@localhost ~]$ ktorrent ktorrent: error while loading shared libraries: libktorrent.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Anyone know why I am getting this error? tyme
did you log out and back in prior to running the command?
hanes
nope, but after a reboot, i still get the same thing
scarecrow
Last ktorrent is not 2.0, but 2.0 RC1. You can compile it from source, although it will probaly ask for several KDE devel packages. I've compiled it for Arch Linux 0.7.2, and it works fine, although I still prefer the bloated Azureus- to be honest...
rakavka
Hi there I'm trying to install 2.0 RC1. ianw1974
Make it easier and just use urpmi and your easyurpmi sources to install it. [ian@europa ~]$ urpmf --name ktorrent libktorrent0:libktorrent0-1.0-2mdk.i586.rpm libktorrent0-devel:libktorrent0-devel-1.0-2mdk.i586.rpm ktorrent:ktorrent-1.0-2mdk.i586.rpm this is what's available in urpmi sources, then just: urpmi ktorrent although maybe it's not the option you're looking for I dunno if this is an old release or not. scarecrow
I dunno if this is an old release or not. This one at urpmi is "just" six months old, but the main problem with it is that it's completely unusable (crashes seven times per minute). I see you have gmp 4.1.4 installed, you will also need Qt3-devel and kdelibs-devel packages installed to compile. By the way, once version 2 is 'final" an RPM will appear here And last but not least, your gmp/gcc version suggests you are using Cooker... so don't expect everything to work (factly, mamny things should be broken at the current Cooker condition). rakavka
2 ianw1974 This version is old . 2 scarecrow # urpmi Qt3-develThe package(s) are already installed The following package names were assumed: libqt3-devel [root@PASHA pavel]# urpmi kdelibs-devel The package(s) are already installed The following package names were assumed: libkdecore4-devel Plz more info about this Cooker thing . Should I reinstall something? (I'm a newbie) Thanks
rakavka
2 all The first time I installed the GMP thing was from rpm.. This time I downloaded the last ver. from http://www.swox.com/gmp and compiled it. After that, I got no errors installing Ktorrent :) Just one q. Can I delete the unpacked files or they are part of an installed program? Thanks
ianw1974
You can delete the unpacked files, as the installed program should have gone to /usr/local or something like that, depending on the ./configure process.
rakavka
2 ianw1974 Thanks a lot
scarecrow
Compiling gmp from source succesfully and being able to handle Cooker and have a working system means that you are a very advanced newbie! :D Glad you sorted this one out. rakavka
2 scarecrow It's a newbie's luck :) I have another problem. Is there a problem with handeling long names? Now I want to seed 3 torrents... 2 with short names are seeded without a problem. When I try to seed " Pirates.of.the.Caribbean.Dead.Mans.Chest.TELESYNC.XViD.INTERNAL.READNFO- PUKKA" I get " cannot create .Pirates.of.the.Caribbean.Dead.Mans.Chest.TELESYNC.XViD.INTERNAL.READ NFO-PUKKA no such directory" . The dir is there... :) Is there a way to short a name? Thanks
ianw1974
It should work fine, I'd check the config of your client to make sure the directory it's saving to has been set correctly.
rakavka
Hmm I'm sure 100 % that the directory is correct(I managed to seed 2 torrents). Anyway, when I'm trying to change a temp dir, I get " could not create symlink /mnt/.... please check permissions " (I don't think that's a reason) Thanks Also I have noticed I can't extract rar files that contain " " (spaces). The only way to extract is to rename the file's name by eliminating the spaces. And I can't enter to "Program Files" on my windows partition. (both fat 32) [pavel@PASHA win_c]$ cd Program Filesbash: cd: Program: No such file or directory May be there is a connection?
