Guest cid
Okay, I went cold turkey. Just booted windows right out of the house. Was so tired of it. LOVE my linux install. But I forgot to do my taxes first :) I already even had purchased all the TaxCut goodies and everything. So...are there any viable options out there? It didn't seem to want to run under wine. I haven't tried any of the emulators out there. Can't afford VMWare...has anyone tried doing it in BOCHS? Any other ideas? D
Crashdamage
TaxCut runs perfectly with Win4Lin. Anything that doesn't require DirectX runs great with Win4Lin. At $80-90, Win4Lin's not exactly free, but much cheaper than VMware at $300 and runs rings around it.
fuzzylizard
What country are you in? If it is Canada then QuickTax is available online and will work with Mozilla. www.quicktax.ca
Guest jglen490
There are on-line options. To satisfy paranoia concerns more than anything, you probably want to to stick with some brand name companies. In the U.S., there are links to some sites (including free filing -- in SOME cases) at IRS.GOV. You may also be able to google some of that info. scoopy
Check out the online options here: http://www.irs.gov/app/freeFile/welcome.jsp I filed with TurboTax through there and it didn't cost me a dime and got my refund in two weeks. I would suggest using Mozilla (to avoid script problems like with Konq) and have something installed to read pdf files (for the final forms you will want to print out and save). I just wish I could throw my windows out like that.
