Trio3b
error for 2 out of 4 users. kids messing with PC "error setting up inter-process communications for kde" "could not read network connections list /home/user1/.DCOPserver_name.mylan_0" "check dcopserver is running" googled DCOP. have tried to remove and /or reset .kde files and .DCOP server file to no avail. Noticed that the ownership of the /tmp/gconfd-user1 and user 2 somehow got reversed (how?), so I reset that but no luck. Have tried resetting permissions and ownership of these files but no luckL: /.dcopserver /.kde/socket-hostname .kde/tmp-hostname /tmp-kde-user /.kde/socket-hostname /tmp/ksocket-user Am trying to see why 2 users CAN login while other 2 cannot, but that's a lot of comparing. must be missing something simple. Any ideas? Thanks
