And you can also use the backslash to escape the space:

My Documents

and it works as well.

It's just an old-geezer thing for the most part.

I just convulse when working in a console and see spaces :)

Actually that might've worked better...LOL. Anyway, thaanks for all the tips. Yesterday she sat down at my computer and configured her desktop to her liking and told me that if I wanted to make her computer dual-boot so she could 'play around', it was ok. Now I have to wait until I buy her a bigger HD (she has an 8 gig and uses most of it in no time with just windows).

This might help convince men and women alike.

Take it as you will....I DO NOT post it in hopes of a discussion on peoples beliefs and/or rights. The original question was "how to convince?"...well, my wife sent me an email at work with the subject

I want Windows OFF this computer!
So I called to see just how serious she was and she's dead serious :)

Background: she started to use KDE and after a short period went back to windows.....didn't want to have to learn anymore, if windows was there, printing wasn't near as user friendly or as good (getting a new printer this week), and a few other resolvable issues. Now she's willing.

It's kind of ironic that the OS that is "No Choice" is "Pro-Choice" and the OS that is "all about choice" is neutral on the subject...

See,... Liberals and conservatives alike like Linux!!!
