The reason it takes over the role of main site is this

I'm not 100% sure how to make that different, but you'll also need an entry for your main site in virtual hosts. This is telling everything sent to www.calandria.com on IP 66.25.242.26 to go to /var/www/html/calandria

 

 

You'll also somehow need an entry to tell it to send everything from www.mainsite.com on IP 66.25.242.26 to go to /var/www/html/mainsite It's probably something like adding another:

ServerName mainsite.dynu.com

ServerAlias www.mainsite.com

Of course, if your path that works is /var/www/mainsite, then that is what you should put.

Okay.. I chnaged it again.

 

The main site is notin control at both domains.

I too am suffering from the "Virtual Host Blues:)", I can only get one site running properly, either nothing works, or one works. I talked to an Apache Admin today, and he gave the suggestion about adding the <Directory> Directives for each site, but I am not sure which config file it goes into with Apache 2.0.44. So you are not the only one having probs, I even scoured the Google Groups today and still no luck, read the Apache docs and directives at the Apache Site, and still a no go.

Sorry for the cross posting, but I think we pretty much have the same type of problem occuring here. Okay, managed to get all three sites working internally, but I am still not quite there yet. I have yet to get it working externally. I do have Site 1 working externally though. Here are my configs;

Here is what I did eventually to get all 3 sites accessible from the the Internet. The only config file I added the Virtual Host Directives to, was the httpd2.conf file. Note what I did comment out though;

Removed everything from my /etc/hosts that had to do with the websites, set the VHosts.conf back to the default, which has nothing, and removed everything from the commonhttpd.conf file that I added. So the only changes were in the "HTTPD2.CONF" file.

So this what you have included is your httpd2.conf file???

 

I am a bit confused what you have done...maybe because of your cross posting.

 

Yes this last post of my http2.conf file is all I need to get all 3 sites up and running. Since I reinstalled to 9.1 final, I did the same thing, and it still works. Just use the last http2.conf file and it will work for you.

How are you including the httpd2.conf? That file seems a lot like the httpd.conf

Are you including it in the httpd.conf file, or another?

Depends on what version of Apache you are running, if you are running 1.3.xx, then it goes in the httpd.conf file, if you are running Apache 2.0.xx then it goes in the httpd2.conf file instead.
