var-cache directory filling up

I had some work done by a consultant recently on my server (mandriva 2006). Now I'm finding that my /var partition is filling up every day and causing all sorts of problems.

The problem is that /var/cache/httpd is what's actually filling up. I think this may be because the consultant had me install mod_proxy, but I'm not sure.

Is it mod_proxy causing this? If so, how can I fix this. My current solution is to delete all the files in /var/cache/httpd every day :).

I'd be tempted to call the consultant and find out what he actually did that caused the disk space to fill up.

Is it using all the disk space completely? Normally, should I have enabled a proxy, I'd have configured it to ensure it did not use all disk space, but leave a bit free for logging and other stuff, else you end up with problems if it all becomes fully utilised.

If he did allocate all of it, try to find out what you can edit to stop the cache using all the disk space, and keep some of it free for other things.
