neddie
Total size: 24MB. Picasa software (9MB), Wine (12MB) and Gecko engine (3MB).This uses Wine? Does it offer anything that Digikam doesn't do?

In my opinion, it is no better than gThumb on linux, but on my XP it is very handy, i use it a lot.
ianw1974
Shame it's wine and not a proper Linux release :P But at least compatible is better than something that may/may not work ;)
Gowator
Does it offer anything that Digikam doesn't do? Dunno, never bothered with digicam but what it does do it does nicely. :D
scarecrow
But at least compatible is better than something that may/may not work ;) Irfan View is way better a viewer than Picasa, and works flawlessly under wine ( Slax even offers it as a module! ). ilia_kr
Dunno, never bothered with digicam but what it does do it does nicely. :D Thats for sure. I like its scroll bar - moves smooth and fast; it also has a nice crossfade effect while in a slideshow mode.
uralmasha
Oh, great That's a piece of application i'm willing to pay for. It just contains the 3 features I need: straighten hirizon, shadows and highlights (had it also shear correction, that'd be too good!) Now I feel stupid 'cos I never bothered to try picasa under wine.
jlc
If you use Fedora, don't disable SELinux, just use a work around: http://james-morris.livejournal.com/11429.html It appears that some of the libraries they distribute require the execmod permission, which is not granted by default under SELinux. The above workaround above relabels the supplied libraries so that SELinux policy will consider them "safe" to perform operations constrained by the execmod permission. This in fact may be unsafe, although this workaround is certainly better than completely disabling SELinux. I love unsafe programs, sign me up right now!!!!
