udev and Webcam. [solved]

I have two cameras one used to work now does not using the UDEV but before it worked fine using the dev_fs.

 

I have looked about unsucessfully to find a reason why i have no /dev/video0 or anything like that.

 

In the past you would configure it under the modprobe.conf

 

but now that does not work

 

i have added pwc to modprobe.preload to see if that would help. It at least loads the drivers but i do not have the devices added.

 

I have switched on udev info logging and cannot see any major errors, i can see the driver loading but that is it.

 

i know your going to ask for this so here is dmesg and the info from messages..

I have fixed it removed all dkms and reloaded all the then stepped through the dkms errors from manual starts.

 

Loaded the correct driver spca5xxx and then added this to the modules file and it all works now..
