No mouse (again) with MDE downloaded Kernel MM

Ok, I'm familiar with the ServerVTs=-7 line that had to be added to the previous /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc but I beleive MDE fixed this perviously. I've installed the Multimedia Kernel from the MDE repository and once again, there's no mouse movement when using this kernel. I went back to my old kernel and it works ok. Just curious if this is an easy fix that I'm overlooking? I've already installed the source for the kernel

what kind of a mouse is this? i assume it's some sort of USB. might be a bug in the kernel, check the output of dmesg for errors relating to USB or mouse....

Is there any particular reason you're using this kernel over the standard Mandriva ones? I tend to stick with the standard ones, they work well enough. I'd only attempt a newer kernel if I was having hardware problems or something wasn't working.

If all your hardware is working, I'd stick with the Mandriva kernels.
