ianw1974
For some reason, my machine is not booting from the CD-ROM drive. I cannot create boot floppies, because for some reason, an image doesn't exist for it on the Red Hat CD I have. Can I set LILO to boot from the CD-ROM directly? Or issue something from LILO to do it? Gowator
you can try lilo -R this sets the command line for the next boot ... for a one off or add the boot = /dev/hdc and root = /dev/hdc (assuming of course the cd is hdc!)
ianw1974
If I use the lilo -R, what would I type at the command line to get LILO to boot the CD?
Gowator
from man -b bootdev boot=bootdev hence I think you need -b /dev/hdc
