Webmin ssl dying

Recommended Posts

I use Webmin to control a headless server and a while ago had problems, basicaly the icons taking forever to display.... I was a bit worried about beiung compromised but I reinstalled and everything has been fine for a while....

Then today again I get the same problem...

Has anyone else experienced this... am I the only one and even better does anyone know why?

Webmin uses plain html (plus java) for its display, so I cannot see why it happens- unless the Ubuntu package is pants...

Does it work sans ssl?

hmm well while messing about I found the resolv.conf was broken and it was a problem resolving the hostnames!

Now a new mystery... why did resolv.conf suddenly get altered!

But if you hard lock it, and your ISP's dns changes......... ;)

but that doesnt normally happen.

nope and I can just check their internet site.... oops oh wait...

Actually I have more than one PC its just this one is a dedicated server... its damned annoying and it wasn't until I tried an apt-get update I wondered what the heck was going on.. then realised what it must be.
