mystified
I've just installed Azureus for Mandriva 2006 and I'm having a connection problem. I've set port forwarding for port 6881 like it recommends. But I'm getting the following error: Connection Error (IllegalArgumentException:protocol = http host = null) I've never used Azureus before so I have no idea how to fix this problem. Suggestions? Thanks
devries
I think it's trying to connect through a different port. If I remember correctly azureus default is to select a random port. Look in the azureus settings to disable this setting. http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/..._is_blacklisted
scarecrow
Other than that, get sure your ISP doesn't cap port 6881 (quite a few do cap the standard P2P-related ports). I guess you have both j2re and swt installed, right?
mystified
I guess you have both j2re and swt installed, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, and when I launch from a terminal it finds them. I switched to another port and tested it and I'm getting - NAT error.
liquidzoo
Other than that, get sure your ISP doesn't cap port 6881 (quite a few do cap the standard P2P-related ports). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IMO, this is dumb. World of Warcraft, Anarchy Online, EQ, and many other games have downloads or updates that are available exclusively by torrent. The reasons of doing this, to combat piracy, are noble; but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Related to the topic: mysti, have you tried another bittorrent client? btdownloadcurses is good, and the one that I always used in linux, even though it is a command line client. It's available in plf, I think. Might give you a better indication as to whether the port is blocked or there are other errors that are specific to Azureus. mystified
Thanks devries but I've already read the azureus wiki. I'm just going to use bitorrent which is what I use in Gentoo. I prefer cli to gui anyway.
