All-in-one HPPSC1410 [solved]

I have a HPPSC1410 on my IBM notebook scanner, printer works out of the box, on the P2 of my son the printer part works also with IPP (http://localhost:631:printers/hppsc1400).

But he can't find the scanner. Is this possiblyand how.

It won't work with Sane, maybe a commercial scanner software can cope with it (although I doubt it).

I find it strange, the printer works fine why not the scanner :woot_jump: it is the same device.

I recently connected a HP PSC 2355 all-in-one device to my desctop pc, then running Mandriva 2005le.

I connected the PSC 2355 and then went to MCC->Peripherals->Printers.

The printer was detected automatically and all software, including scanning software (Kooka),

was installed automatically. There is even a "hp printer Toolbox" program in Start-System-Observation.

The only part i installed manually is OCRAD (Optical Character Recognition).

For scanning i now use XSane.

 

Did you try installing/re-installing printer/scanner in MCC?

The all-in-one works out of the box on my laptop, my son have a pentium 2 on 233 mhz.

Both have w-lan, the all-in-one is regonized and he can print over the w-lan only scanning doesn't work. He can't find a scanner.

I searched manual and give as port the same as the printer http://111.111.1.111:631/printers/HPPSC1400

Which one:

 

"System specs." i find something summary, but get a 404 error

I've done all off that, but still no scanner.

On host i say share scanner with http://111.111.1.100

On client i say use scanner on http://111.111.1.101

Could it be because its a all-in-one.

Do you have HPLIP installed (e.g. hplip-0.9.5-1.1.20060mdk)

From version 0.9.5 hp-psc-1400 series is supported.

It's solved, in MCC i did:

On host i say share scanner with http://ip-adres-client, ip-adres-client (saned will be installed)

In the firewall set port 6566/tcp open (for saned communication)

On client i say use scanner on http://ip-adres-host, ip-adres-host

In the firewall set port 6566/tcp open (for saned communication)

Restart both comps and Xsane on the client found the scanner part on the client
