Guest LinuxExplorer
I take it you're using Mandrake?

Guest volc
Thanks! but if i use KDE now i wont lose ne info i had for Gnome?
Guest LinuxExplorer
No. Any saved data in things like wordproccesors, the playlist for XMMS, any system changes, configurations for servers, etc. won't be lost. Just the actual layout of your icons will change and the overall look (IMHO looks a whole lot better with KDE)
Guest volc
OK! :D Thanks alot and last thing how do i make linux become 800 x 600 cos i put in the wrong size when i installed Thanks AGAIN!
Guest LinuxExplorer
Again, the simplest way to change this is within Mandrake Control Center. (BTW, if you can't find it in Gnome, press ALT-F2, then type in drakconf to get into it) Go to hardware, then to resolution. You should be a menu that looks like this: Resolution Menu The top pull down menu is the resolution and the second pull down menu is the color depth. Change the resolution to whatever you'd like and remember to change it something your monitor can handle! When you select OK, it'll give you a message to relogin into KWin. A quick and easy way to get out is to CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE and restart the X-server. This'll take you back to login. When you come back in, the new resolution will be in effect. Guest LinuxExplorer
Aye. Sure thing. It helps me keep up with how to configure and use Linux anyway.
Guest LinuxExplorer
Hey. Who altered my second post on this thread....? Is that something automatic...? I know I didn't delete that whole explanation I gave.
