thac
new xorg with updated unichrome added There is actuallay 3 different version of unichrome implementations at the moment. 1. the one in xorg, currently not working 2, the one in http://sourceforge.net/projects/unichrome/ that is missing support for via xvmc harware acceleration 3, http://www.openchrome.org/ that supports both 3d and xvmc hardware support I have built current xorg-x11-6.9-cvs20051127 rpms for mandriva 2006 with the openchrome version added. I have also built the Mesa-6.4.1 that is included in xorg sourca and alse a dlms-drm built from the drm source included in xorg source. This will provide the version of Mesa and drm that xorg is actually built against. I have never understood why mandriva only provides an old version of Mesa = 5. since both mesa and drm development moved to be part of xorg cvs years ago. is it only natural to let xorg spec build both mesa and drm , like all other distros except mandriva does. my xorg also has radeon tv_output fix, sis 180905 driver from http://www.winischhofer.at/linuxsisvga.shtml and mgadriver 4.2.0 it does also contain fix for greek kb. there is also an rpm for the The SiS Display Control Panel (sisctrl) for the sis driver. The rpms is available in my repo at http://www.mde.djura.org/index2006.0.html Edited January 20, 2006 by thac

theYinYeti
I have a EPIA Cle266 chipset, that will love those RPMs I'm sure :)Well, it did not... :( Do you know if it would help if I downgraded to xorg...-6, from my current xorg...-7? What's the difference between the two? By the way, what is dkms-drm? In fact, my question is rather: what packages are expected to be installed when the xorg one is? Thank you Thac, Yves. thac
Do you know if it would help if I downgraded to xorg...-6, from my current xorg...-7? What's the difference between the two? yes i have removed-7 version it had an issue vith unichrome the differenece is updated mesa from cvs mesa_6.4 branch the wull be merged ifficially in xorg very soon, i guess i will have to wait for that By the way, what is dkms-drm? In fact, my question is rather: what packages are expected to be installed when the xorg one is? the things that is installed with xorg is xorg + new mesa then you should also install latest dkms-drm that is the updated kernel drivers for new mesa Another thing make sure that you have the mesa installed that i created by the -6 xorg version = -6 mesa

Gul Dukat
new xorg from 20051212 with the fix for mandriva mousewheel added <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is this Xorg-version also in the cooker-depositories, or only in the ones of SeerofSould? And if so, can I install this Xorg in combination with with cookr? Thanks in advance.
thac
If you read the beginning of this thread you will see that my version of xorg is not same as the one in cooker and also not like the one on sos This xorg version i the only one with fully working 3d support. It also has updated radeon tv out, latest sis, via openchrome and updated matrox drivers. This version also has Mesa-6.4.1 = the current official version not the ancient Mesa-5.x used in Mandriva. And it also needs the new dkms-drm installed to update the kernel 3d drivers. It is available in http://www.mde.djura.org/index2006.0.html
