daniewicz
Any backgammon players out there? I recently installed gnu backgammon on my 10.2 system. The install used files from my 6 CD's. A subsequent update attempt using urmpi found no updates. As I near the end of a game, the program consistently crashes with the following message: gnubg: bearoff.c:2232: BearoffDist: Assertion `pbc->bt == BEAROFF_ONESIDED' failed. Aborted Can anyone help? daniewicz
I found a fix. I downloaded new bearoff databases from: http://www.gnu.org/software/gnubg/manual/h...-databases.html All now appears to be well. Gnu backgammon is a VERY tough competitor! Guest gordman
Well you should check an original site, see what the real problem is, I never installed gnu backgammon but it looks like it's worth the effort. I think I am gonna try it too, hopeful I won have any technical installation problems.
daniewicz
I recently installed gnu backgammon (gnubg) on my Ubuntu laptop without incident. I would strongly recommend this software if you are a backgammon player. Good fun!
