I get very wait times for printer output while CUPS times-out trying to contact dbus. Is there a work around, or do we just have to wait until Mandriva or the upstream developers get around to updating CUPS for dbus-0.50 (eggcups too). scarecrow Posted November 3, 2005 Report Share Posted November 3, 2005 Same here with CUPS (frequent printer timeouts) as well as with USB storage media (they don't automount anymore). Not on Mandy, but from what I've read it's a certain dbus issue... Supposedly HAL does not interprete well the new daemon, and your old /etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf (or wherever it lies on your system) needs some manual tweaking, but I've not properly understood how should I treat the hal rules- yet.
