I've changed the "tun" entry in /etc/udev/rules.d/50-mdk.rules to read like this: KERNEL="tun", SYMLINK="net/%k", MODE="0666" But the permission is 0600 after reboot nevertheless. pmpatrick Posted October 30, 2005 Report Share Posted October 30, 2005 Put your chmod command for the device file at the end of /etc/rc.d/rc.local. That's the easiest way to do it without tracing through everything to see if anything is changing the perms back. Rc.local is the last init script to run so nothing else should mess with the perms.
