So Sad but so true i went through the same thing with Dell, but it not just PC makers that block usage of Linux it also companies like Verizon that make it very difficult to work with Linux. If you call them with a connectivaty problem the first thing that come out the mouth is "We don't support Linux" Why? by far linux is a superior OS compared to Windows why not support it? I do know one thing for sure alot of other companies are coming to terms that Linux is the Operating System of the Future period! ilia_kr thanks for link it very intersting.

You can always buy a pc with a warranty that's assembled in a basement somewhere near. You can specify the parts, etc., and it is cheaper than a brand pc.

At least in Latvia.

Why buy DELL is beyond me.

Here, it's not cheaper to build one than buy a brand pc, unless you're building a low-end system. After you buy the parts and pay for shipping, it isn't much cheaper, if any.

oh, i.c., then there's at least one good thing in this godforgotten place

here they build the pc's at the shop (the one which I use), the shipping at my area is me and a bunch of friends to carry the stuff and keep it safe from thugs :))

even the most expensive shops rarely sell brand pc's, because nobody really buys them. servers is another talk.
