mmodem
To announce that today the mirros will be with no kde rpm files because we are building kde-3.5.0-1.pre and also because the last packages had some conflicts. These conflicts were caused by the last rpms, because they were changed to that way all kde rpms have the same packaging policy and there were some problems to resolve, we are only humans :) We ask for your patience, but probably tomorrow the new kde will be released. greetings,
devries
Some screenshots of KDE 3.5: The desktop with an SVG wallpaper. Looks very nice. Tooltips: Now autohiding the systray. I don't now if it's a good thing. If you move the mouse away from it it hides. That happens even you don't want it to, for example when you want to use Klipper. devries
Kicker applets: Amarok integration in Konqueror with the newdanna-lite style: Konqueror and metabar: now very fast and responsive (in contrast to KDE 3.4). Wish someone would port the newdanna style for it. :) The new tooltips Again kicker applets:
devries
Editing the taskbar. Some options (like hiding applethandels) are missing from the GUI. Still you get the idea :) Once again adding applets to kicker: Playing a video in Konqueror with metabar and kmplayer. Still a problem with autofitting the video in metabar: The composite engine at work: true transparency A look at the mandriva start menu :). Nothing changed. mmodem
All requires and conflicts fixed, new improvements, check at usual place http://www.mde.djura.org/ When installing kde, dont forget to add the repositories plf and contrib like explained in our kde web page. I have seen severall post saying that requires this and that, and that the install isnt possible, if you read our web page you would understand why and how to do it. Thanks for your patient. greetings, MDE Team (Mandriva Enhanced Developers - Thac & Zé)
devries
Is there a problem with the mirrors? I've ran the update, but when I check the list of software in the MCC there are no new packages. When I visit the site I can see that there are new packages but when I for example try to install a package by hand I get: Bepaalde gevraagde pakketten konden niet worden geïnstalleerd:kdeaddons-common-3.5.0-0.pre.10.mdk2006.0.mde.i586 (vanwege onvoldane libkdeaddons1-common[== 1:3.5.0-0.pre.10.mdk2006.0.mde]) And that is correct because I can't find a libkdeaddons-common on the site. thac
s correct because I can't find a libkdeaddons-common on the site. it seems that zé was in a hurry adding all, he forgot to upload some of the rpms. He is away for a few days. i have to rebuild them to add them im working on it right now.
devries
Installed latest packages: the problems: can't install kdepim because of missing libkdepim2-korganize, the packages depend on the devel docs (not really a problem for me but might be for people with slow connections or limited diskspace), can't install kdebindings-qtpython (and I think I installing that package would solve the qtpython problem) because it conflicts with sip (and therefore with hplip and qtpython that I need for my hp printer). The good: I really like kde 3.5 and kopete/msn works again. :)

thac
Im doing some more dependency cleanup there is a few rpms that still require main names that must be replaced with .common since one of the last changes was to add main name wrappers (that will pull in all meta packages) to all kde parts and move main rpm to -common probably done tomorrow PS and about kopete i will try to add the new kopete-0.12 branch even more new features
