At the top of the page, there is a link. "easyurpmi". This tool will help you to set up software mirrors from e.g. Universities and the like. They host the packages, bugfixes and updates for Mandriva. The easyurpmi tool will help you to make the software mirror of your choice available on your system for downloading, updating and bugfixing your system. All you need is a network connection. ;) Once you have set up the mirrors, as described there, you can add all Mandriva-software packages using either the Mandriva-Control-Center (MCC, aka: Configure your computer. Go to the software section and search for the software you want to install, click on it and let the wizard do the rest) or you can install them from a terminal using the urpmi command. E.g.

urpmi mplayer

Usage is simple. "urpmi <packagename>". The tool will solve any dependencies automatically. If you want to learn about the urpmi package manager, type in a terminal

urpmi --help

or

man urpmi (for exiting the manual, press "q")

Good luck. :)

That mplayer package has a bad signature. It's a security feature that shows the package you are about to install is really from the source you have downloaded and noone tinkered with it. But in this release Mandriva screwed up a lot of package signatures so prepare to meet more of them until they fix it.
