"Mouting Local File System Failed" I have been using Mandrake for 2 weeks off of an external hard disk when this happened? Do I need to reinstall Mandrake from scratch or is there a way to retain my setup? Cannonfodder Posted September 24, 2005 Report Share Posted September 24, 2005 You may also want to boot in rescue mode and see if you can mount the drive. coverup Posted September 24, 2005 Report Share Posted September 24, 2005 I had this message every time I was booting with the CD tray empty. Try putting a data CD in the drive, and reboot.
