Im downloading Mandriva 2006 RC2 and Im not sure which architecture I should select for AMD ATHLON 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ processor. Easy URPMI site have these selections: AMD64 and X86_64

Which one is for me???

And one more question??? Is SMP-kernel for me?

Thanks for reply!

I'd try with x86_64 first, but you won't be able to use those packages from easyurpmi if you haven't installed from the correct discs. Are you downloading both versions of the RC2?

About smp: the smp-kernel should be installed automatically in your case.

i think if you use the smp kernel and your machine can't use it, it still works fine. that's my understanding from stuff i've read. but i've ran an smp kernel for a long time on a non-ht p4. i think with ht is when the p4 could actually take advantage of the smp kernel.
