My problem is the following: sometimes I'm not using X-server and I have a necessity to switch my keyboard layout in the console. I'm extensively using the russian language (I think it can be ANY language both using latin letters and not) but as soon as I switch to it in the console (X-server is not running!), I cannot switch back. Modifiers are more than language-neutral (Ctrl-Shift or Alt-Shift or simply the left Shift) but the result is still the same. It's very much disappointing. Thanks in advance. twelvegates Posted September 20, 2005 Report Share Posted September 20, 2005 If X is running you should be able to switch to X by pressing Alt-F7. If X is not running how can you switch to it? I am NOT able to switch to X by merely pressing Alt-F7 (suppose I didn't change my init.d file). Still, there is an option to switch keyboard layout (not screens!) in these circumstances.
