Bossieman
I have no clue what to do. I have tried and tried but no luck. How do I get KDE to work under RC 1 2006? I cant choose kde as default desktop even thoug I have choosen kde to be installed during the installation. Do I have to change a script or something. AussieJohn
You shouldn't have to change anything or alter script or what ever. Mandriva is well past that kind of primitive install. It seems you have a busted corrupted install. Recheck your iso's for the cdroms and if you burnt them yourself then reburn a new set at the slowest rate possible and make certain you burn them as isos and not as unpacked data cds and check the checksum. Cheers and welcome to our MUB. John.
uralmasha
I also had a corrupted KDE install on x86_64, at first attempt. I later re-installed everyting from scratch, with the same CD and it is OK now, as far as I can tell (not that there are no bugs). I blame the "mini"-cd for that. Perhaps, the mirror it used for install wasn't up-to-date. Maybe it's worthwhile to download all the 3 ISO's first.
Bossieman
I have checked the MD5 summs and I have used K3B as software. I will make a last triy now with a slow burnspeed. I get back with info.
