erpe
I am trying the latest Mandrake 2006. When i try to add sources from a Mandriva web or FTP i get the following message: Unable to add medium, errors reported: It's impossible to retrieve the list of new packages from the media `update_source'. Either this update media is misconfigured, and in this case you should use the Software Media Manager to remove it and re-add it in order to reconfigure it, either it is currently unreachable and you should retry later. Please help me fix this in order to enable online updates!
bvc
well...links would be nice  but usually it just means the mirror is down....try another or wait. It can also mean a mirror is, as it says "misconfigured", which again is usually fixed with an update of the mirror itself. At this point, it's best to go find another mirror. This has been the best for a long time for me ftp://ftp.proxad.net/pub/Distributions_Linux/Mandrakelinux Edited September 10, 2005 by bvc

arctic
Do you have a firewall running? If yes, disable it for now and try again. And which kind of network connection are you using? Maybe it is related to improper network config files.

Could it be the issue that i am using 2006?
dexter11
Mandriva 2006 is still in testing phase so it doesn't have an update_source. Only the official version will have one. Until then you are encouraged to upgrade to RC1 and then RC2.

bvc
SUre, use the media manager in the control center to set up an ftp source. It's pretty simple but if you need more info than that let us know.
