If urpmi keeps asking for cd3 , then cd3 must be listed in software sources.

Go to software manager, sources, and if cd3 is listed, delete it. save, exit.

then do urpmi kdeaddons.

Thanks anon:

Yes cd3 is listed in the sources, my bad, I should of mentioned that in the post.

Had no idea that it could be this simple of a fix.

I'll give this a try and see what installs. :D

And it's not that easy!

Did that and it mucked things up, lucky me. :)

As the rutgers site seems to be playing up, it might be a good idea. That site is supposed to be anonmous login, it shouldn't tell you "login incorrect" But its not nessasary to remove it, you can add as many sources as you like.

If you still can't get the hang of it, let me know, I will upload kdeaddons to our ftp site, and you can d-load it from there. What version of kdeaddons are you after ?

As the rutgers site seems to be playing up, it might be a good idea.

It worked well before I removed the cd3 entry from the sources. I'll retry rutgers one more time and if it gives the same responce, removing it is probably the way to go.

But its not nessasary to remove it, you can add as many sources as you like.

Thats good to know, I take it that urpmi at the command line will go down a list until it finds the package I'd want from every available source, otherwise it would be useless to add other sources for the same package name.

I'm looking for the kdeaddons-3.0.3-6 mdk package.

While I expect that newer ones are available, the amount of updating dependencies etc would be huge as a dial up user. Hence I'll wait for the new Mandrake V9.1 to come out. Then I'll try to keep up with all the updates.

Sucess at last!

It appears that the rutger server was borked last nite. Now that I know what the tip off looks like-> Login incorrect. I'll keep a look out for this in the future. DUH on me!

I just decided to give this a try before I downloaded more sources, glad that I did.

ML9.0 International CD 3

Open a terminal > xterm -sl 6500 (sl=save lines). Then cd /mnt/cdrom>ls>cd Mandrake>ls>cd RPMS3>ls. Then start dragging the cursor to copy, press Shift and the down arrow. When all is copied (highlighted) go to whereever you want to paste and press either the middle button, wheel button, or thumb button.

BobGuy

Now you have got urpmi working OK. You can add cd3 back to your sources.

I think if you open it up, there's a index file on the cd, with a list of contents.

Can't remember, Im running a beta at the moment.

BVC.

Are you sure you didn't leave one or two files off that short list ?
