Hello, I have a new version of Firefox (1.06) and and old version on my system (the one that came default through urpmi)... On the new version I can't watch any movies but on the old one I can (I guess this is because urpmi is putting the plugins somewhere and the new firefox doesnt know about it......)

 

How do I fix this? Is there some kind of file I can edit to add a plugin?

you know what really annoys me about the urpmi one, it uses the gnome file box, the one i download from the net uses the kde file/save box... Any idea how this works? Does mandriva change something in the script or something?

 

Mandriva compiles their own version of firefox, and I have not been impressed with it. In addition to the cosmetic complaint you have (which I agree with), the urpmi version also renders slower as measured by a benchmark known as the Scragz test. I found this test on the MozillaZine forums. I tried to attach this file to my post here but got the following error message:

 

Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload a file with that file extension (xhtml).
