Ironfighter
I also found this information - is the patch something I should try? http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd...ary/008251.html
Ironfighter
I fixed this - I am not quite sure how buy here is what I did. Installed Kscd Downloaded and installed Mplayer and its codecs. Installed Bit Media Player. Installed Amorek. Installed Xmms. My computer wouldn run Amorek or Xmms properly so I got rid of them. Downloaded and Installed Grip. Found our that I could play a CD through all the programmes left on my computer. Ripped tracks from Grip. Found out I could play the ripped files through any of the programmes left on my computer. Still couldn´t play the clips from the BBC - Mmmmm Decided to have a poke around in the Mandrake Control Centre - in particular the sound card driver which on my machine is 82801AA 810 Chipset AC'97 Audio Controller Found out I could choose a diffrent sound card which was snd -intel8xo. So I did. I was told I had to install ALSA so I did. Rebooted the computer (because I am a refugee from windows) Tested that I could play ripped files and CD´s from all my programmes above - yes. Went to the BBC sports page and clicked on the Audio/video links and then Watched and Listened to Sam Allardyce bemoaning his sides performance against Blackburn Rovers!!!! :D
