Boot from CD when your BIOS can't

While trying to install Debian on my Toshiba 300 CDS, I finally found this:

http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/

This site is completely broken and most links are broken too: you had better browse and use this site in "file manager" mode

However, the tool itself is wonderfull! I downloaded this URL:

http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/3.7/sbminst-static

Then, with a new floppy in the drive, a simple

sbminst -t fr -d /dev/fd0

(fr because I'm French)

and now I can boot from CD even though my Toshiba BIOS can't!

With a free tool like this, I wonder why distributions still bother with custom boot disks that take longer to launch...

Yves.

[Edit:]This URL seems to work much better: http://btmgr.webframe.org/ Hopefully it is the same.[/edit]
