coverup
I have installed 10.1 powerpack. One annoying problem is that inserting then unmounting memory stick stops konqueror from starting up. The problem is pretty much the same as described in this post https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=24777&hl=. Also, the icon does not pop up on the KDE desktop although I can easily browse /mnt/removable from the CLI. I have partly fixed the problem by adding a permanent entry to /etc/fstab none /mnt/removable supermount dev=/dev/sda4,fs=vfat,users,--,iocharset=iso8859-1,codepage=850 0 0 Now I have a permanent "Hard disk" icon on the desktop, and when the stick is in the USB port, I can browse it. But to unmount it, I have to login as root which is a nuissance. Is it possible to mount/unmount a USB stick by choosing an entry on the desktop, like I do in MDK 9.2/KDE 3.1? How come MDK10.1 does not have this functionality - too easy?
pmpatrick
First run the updates; it's a well known bug in 10.1. See my post here for a lengthy discussion of the problem: https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtop...22&hl=konqueror However, even with the fix, I found usb automounting to be buggy in mdk10.1; LE2005 is much better with usb automounting.
